  • 1 garlic clove finely minced
  • ½-¾ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon finely chopped fresh thyme

Directions

  1. Add butter to a small saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add the garlic and continue cooking for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  2. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk until combined. Slowly begin adding in ½ cup of the milk, 2-3 tablespoons at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the cheese, mustard, salt, pepper, and thyme until smooth. Add additional ¼ cup milk, one tablespoon at a time, until your desired consistency is reached.
